How to Set Up a Referral Program in loyalty Palms

A step-by-step guide to setting up your Referral Program — rewarding customers when they invite friends who place an order.

Step 1: Go to Programs

Click on Programs under Loyalty Palm in the sidebar, then click Set up next to the Referral Program card.

Step 2: Activate the Program

Click the Activate button in the top right corner.

Step 3: Referring Customer Reward

This is the reward your existing customer gets when their friend places an order using their referral link.
Click Edit Reward to set or change this reward.

Step 4: Configure the Reward

Here you set the details for the referring customer's reward.

1. Title – name the reward (e.g., "Referral points")
2. Reward value – enter the points value customers will earn
3. Click Create to save

Step 5: Reward Saved

Your reward now shows 100 points, active and ready.
Want to switch to a different reward format (like a discount) instead of points? Click Change reward type.

You can choose from Online Store rewards (amount discount, percentage off, free shipping, free product, gift card) or Points Rewards.

Step 6: Referred Friend Reward

This is the reward the invited friend gets (currently a $50 amount discount). Click Edit Reward here to change it, just like you did for the referring customer.

Step 7: Set the Friend's Discount Details

1. Title – name the coupon (e.g., "$50 off coupon")
2. Reward value – enter the discount amount
3. Purchase type – choose one-time or subscription purchase

Step 8: Fine-Tune the Discount Rules

1. Applies to – entire order or a specific collection
2. Minimum requirement – none, or set a minimum purchase amount
3. Discount code – optionally add a prefix to generated codes
4. Combinations – choose if it can combine with a shipping discount
5. Reward expiry – optionally set the reward to expire after a set time

Step 9: Review and Create

Check the Summary to confirm the reward details are correct, then click Create to save.

Step 10: Program Activated 🎉

Your referred friend reward is now updated to $25, and you'll see a confirmation: "Referral program activated."
Your Referral Program is now live and ready to reward both referrers and their friends!

Step 11: Additional Settings

1. Social sharing – edit how customers share their referral link (Facebook, X, Email)
2. Referral link preview – customize how your store appears when the link is shared
3. Referral landing page – set the URL referred customers land on, then Save

Step 12: Fraud Protection

Turn on Anti cheat to block suspicious referral claims before rewards are issued. You can enable options like blocking self-referrals, similar emails, repeated IPs/browsers, and more to keep your program secure. Click Save once you've made your selections.

Step 13: You're All Set ✅

Back on the Programs page, your Referral Program now shows as Active with 2 of 2 rewards configured. You can return anytime and click Manage to review or update it.
