Order Splitting and Multi-Package Fulfillment: A Complete Guide for Sellers
How to Split an Order and Ship it in Multiple Packages (Easy Guide)
What is Order Splitting?
Sometimes a customer orders many items together. But the seller may not have all the items ready to ship at the same time.
Instead of making the customer wait for everything, the seller can split the order into small packages and send them one by one. Each package can be shipped and tracked on its own.
Why Do Sellers Split Orders?
- Some items are ready, some are not ready yet
- Items may be in different warehouses
- Customer gets their ready items faster, instead of waiting for everything
- Each package can have its own courier and tracking number
- It makes shipping easier for the seller's team
Step-by-Step: How to Split an Order
Step 1: Click the Split Icon on the Order
Go to your Orders list. Find the order you want to split. In the Action column, click the small split icon
This opens a window where you can start dividing the order's items into packages.

Step 2: Select Items and Create a Group
A window will open showing all the items in the order, each with a checkbox.
- Check the box next to the item(s) you want to put together in one package
- Click the Create Group button

Repeat this for every package you want to make. For example:
- Group 1: the 2 Facial Moisturiser items
- Group 2: 1 Pretty Gold Necklace
- Group 3: the other Pretty Gold Necklace
Each group you create will become its own package.
Step 3: Click the "Split Order" Button
Once you've created all your groups, you'll see them listed with a Group ID and the line items inside each group.
Check everything looks correct, then click the Split Order button at the bottom to confirm.

This locks in your groups and turns them into real, separate packages. If you made a mistake, you can click Discard instead to cancel.

Step 4: Fulfill Each Package Separately
Now each package can be shipped and tracked on its own. Open the fulfillment window again:
- Select which package (line item group) you're shipping using the round button
- Choose the Courier (shipping provider) from the dropdown
- Enter the Tracking Number for that package
- Click Fulfill on TikTok

Repeat this step separately for each remaining package, whenever it's ready to ship. Each one keeps its own courier and tracking number, and its own shipping status like AWAITING_SHIPMENT, In Transit, or Delivered.
Quick Tips (Easy Rules to Remember)
- Only split the order if items are not all ready at the same time
- Check your groups carefully before clicking "Split Order" — once confirmed, it's final
- Give each package its own courier and tracking number
- Keep checking the order status (Unfulfilled, Awaiting Collection, In Transit, Delivered) until every package is delivered
- Let the customer know their order is coming in more than one package
Conclusion
Splitting an order is simple:
Click the split icon → Select items and Create Group → Click Split Order → Fulfill each package with its own tracking number.
This helps sellers send ready items faster, and lets both the seller and the customer track each package on its own — even though everything came from one single order.
