What Are Cross-Border Shops on TikTok? How to Sync Cross-Border Products Using SPL
Overview:
Cross-border shops on TikTok allow sellers to sell products in international markets—even if they’re not physically based in the target country. For example, a seller based in China, the UK, or the UAE can operate TikTok Shops in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, or the UK, and ship products directly to those customers.
Using the SPL app, sellers can manage all their international TikTok Shops through one central Shopify store. SPL enables syncing of one Shopify product across multiple TikTok regions while allowing for region-specific pricing, inventory, and content.
How to connect your TikTok shop with Shopify using SPL
How to Add Multiple TikTok Shops
On the SPL dashboard:
- Click the dropdown menu at the top-right of the page (it shows your current connected shop).
- Select “➕ Add Shop” to add another TikTok Shop (e.g., DE, FR, UK, IT).
- Authorize each shop connection.
After successful connection:
- The CB shop will appear in the dropdown list alongside any domestic shops you’ve already linked.
- You can connect multiple CB (cross-border) shops (e.g., EU‑CB, US‑CB) to the same Shopify store if TikTok has approved them.
Step 1: Go to Global Products
- Step 1: Go to Global Products
- On the SPL app sidebar, click on Global Products.
- You’ll now see a list of your Shopify products that can be synced to TikTok Shops.
Step 2: Select a Product to Sync
From the list of available products:
- Click on the product you want to publish to multiple TikTok Shops and then click to Sync to TikTok Shop.
Step 3: Choose Regions
At the top of the Global Products page, select the regions (TikTok Shops) where you want to publish the product.
Tick the boxes for:
- US – United States
- UK – United Kingdom
- DE – Germany
- FR – France
- IT – Italy …and any other TikTok‑supported countries enabled in your CB shop.
Only the selected markets will receive the listing.
Step 4: Set Global Inventory and Price
This is where you define the total stock available and base price for your product — before it's distributed across multiple TikTok Shops.
- Global Inventory: The total number of units of the product you're selling across all connected TikTok regions.
- Base Price: The default product price, typically in your Shopify store’s base currency (e.g., USD or EUR), that will be applied unless you override it regionally.
📌 This step helps SPL know how many units exist in total, and what the default price should be when syncing to TikTok.
1️⃣ Set Local Pricing
Manually assign different prices per country.
Country | Local Price |
US | $34.99 |
UK | £27.99 |
DE | €31.49 |
✅ Suitable when you need to account for currency, VAT, or market‑specific promotions.
Step 5: Apply Regional Inventory and Pricing
Apply Inventory
This button lets you decide how the global stock will be used across your different TikTok Shops.
When you click Apply Inventory, you'll get two options:
1️⃣ Set Global Inventory as Base
- This means all selected TikTok Shops will pull from the same inventory pool.
- If you enter 200 units as your global inventory:
- Each shop (US, UK) sees 200 available units — and shares that same pool.
- If someone buys in France, the stock decreases for all regions.
✅ Best for centralized warehouses or sellers who fulfill from a single location.
2️⃣ Distribute Inventory Between the Regions
This option lets you manually assign a specific quantity to each TikTok Shop.
Country | Units |
US | 120 |
UK | 90 |
DE | 90 |
✅ Best if you store stock in multiple locations or want to cap sales per region.
- Click Next Step to continue.
Step 6: Complete Category, Brand, Attributes and Compliance Details
Before syncing, complete the TikTok-required fields:
- Choose the Product Category from TikTok’s dropdown (e.g., Electronics › Headphones).
- Select a Brand. If it’s not listed, choose “No Brand” or submit a request via TikTok Seller Center.
1️⃣ Product Attributes
These vary by category and may include:
- Color, Size, Skin Type, Volume, Power Output, etc.
Why it matters:
TikTok Shop and Shopify use these attributes to correctly classify your products, match them with category requirements, and improve searchability and optimization.
✅ In SPL:
You may be asked to fill in or map product attributes during the product sync process to meet TikTok’s listing standards.
2️⃣ Regulatory Compliance Labels (Important for Cross-Border)
TikTok may ask you to confirm any compliance requirements depending on your product category and country:
Examples:
- CE Mark – for electronics, toys, personal care
- RoHS or REACH – for EU environmental compliance
- FDA/EMEA – for food, cosmetics, health
- Age restrictions, recycling symbols
📌 Especially crucial when shipping to Germany, France, or the UK, which have stricter compliance enforcement for cross-border goods.
✅ In SPL, you’ll be prompted to confirm these labels during the sync process.
- Checkmark if you want to Save your Selection as a template for future use.
- You can also assign a custom name to the template and then click Save Template to store it for future use.
Step 7: Sync the Product to TikTok Shops
Once everything is filled:
- Click Create Products on Tiktok.
- Your product will be saved as a Draft and ready to Publish.
To Publish:
- Go to the top-right shop selector in SPL.
- Choose one region at a time (e.g., UK, FR, DE).
- Open the product in that region, review, and click Publish.
- Repeat for each TikTok Shop.
✅ Your product is now live in every selected TikTok country, all managed from a single Shopify listing. Future edits to price, stock, or content in Shopify will auto‑sync to every connected market.
