Settings Configuration in EditMyOrder.ai
This detailed tutorial explains every section inside the Settings area of your EditMyOrder.ai app and how to configure each option properly.
To access Settings:
- Log in to Shopify Admin
- Click Apps
- Open EditMyOrder.ai
- Click Settings in the left sidebar
You will see multiple configuration modules.

1️⃣ Editing Deadline (Edit Window Control)
This section controls how long customers are allowed to edit their orders after placing them.

How to Configure:
- Click Editing Deadline
- Locate Order Edit Deadline
- Select a duration from the dropdown (e.g., 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, etc.)
- Click Save
How It Works:
- Customers can only edit orders within the selected time window.
- Once the time expires, editing options disappear.
- This prevents changes after fulfillment begins.
Recommended Setup:
- 30–60 minutes → Fast fulfillment stores
- 90–120 minutes → Standard fulfillment workflow

2️⃣ Order Tagging (Automatic Tag Management)
This feature automatically adds tags to Shopify orders based on edit status.
Editing Duration Tags
When editing is allowed, the app can automatically add a tag such as:
editing-allowed
This helps your team identify editable orders.
Force Order Hold Tags
When an order is edited, the app can apply a hold tag like:
OE-HOLD
This can:
- Trigger internal workflows
- Pause fulfillment
- Notify your team
Best Practice:
Integrate these tags with your fulfillment system to avoid shipping edited orders prematurely.

3️⃣ App Branding
This section allows you to customize branding for your order editing experience.
How to Configure:
- Click App Branding
- Upload your logo
- Save changes
Your logo will appear on:
- Order editing interface
- Invoice (if enabled)
This keeps the experience aligned with your store branding.

4️⃣ Hidden Products (Control What Customers Can See)
This feature allows you to hide certain products from appearing in order edits or upsells.
To access:
Click Hidden Products

1️⃣ Product Availability Filters
At the top, you can quickly hide products based on type.
Available Options:
☐ Free products
☐ Digital products
☐ Shipping insurance
How It Works:
- If you check Free products, all $0 items will be hidden from editing.
- If you check Digital products, downloadable items will be excluded.
- If you check Shipping insurance, protection add-ons won’t appear in editing.
This is useful to prevent customers from modifying non-physical or system-based items.

2️⃣ Show Products by Name
This section allows you to hide specific products manually.
How to Use:
- Enter the product name in the field.
- Click Add.
- The product will appear in the hidden list below.
Example:
If you add:
Asas Kuasa Gerakan, Delight
That specific product will be hidden from all editing features.
This method is ideal for:
- High-value items
- Custom products
- Special-order inventory
- Internal-use products

3️⃣ Show Products by Tags
You can hide products using Shopify product tags.
How to Use:
- Search for a tag.
- Select it.
- All products with that tag will be hidden automatically.
Example:
If you tag products as:
no-edit
All products with that tag will be excluded from editing.
Best for managing large groups of products quickly.

4️⃣ Show Products by Product Types
You can filter products by their assigned Product Type.
How to Use:
- Search product type.
- Select the type.
- All products in that category will be hidden.
Useful for hiding:
- Gift cards
- Subscription products
- Services
- Custom builds

5️⃣ Hidden Products List
At the bottom, you will see:
“These products will be hidden from all customers.”
Any product added via:
- Name
- Tag
- Type
- Availability filters
Will appear in this list.
Displayed information includes:
- Product image
- Product name
- Price
Example shown:
Asas Kuasa Gerakan, Delight — $5815.56
This confirms it is now hidden from the order editing experience.

5️⃣ Order Edited Notifications (Customer Emails)
This section controls customer notifications when an order is edited.
Enable Email Notification
Toggle:
✔ Send customers an email after each new order edit
What Happens:
- If customer adds an item → email sent
- If customer removes item → email sent
- If customer replaces item → email sent
This keeps customers informed and builds trust.

6️⃣ Merchant Order Summary Email
This feature sends a summary email to the merchant when an order is edited.
How to Configure:
- Enable Merchant Order Summary
- Enter email (optional)
- If left blank, Shopify store email is used

Select What to Include in Summary
You can choose:
- Add Items
- Replace Items
- Change Options
- Update Quantity
Only selected actions will appear in merchant summary email.
Example Workflow
Customer edits order:
- Adds 1 product
- Changes quantity
- Replaces 1 item
System will:
✔ Send email to customer
✔ Add editing-allowed tag
✔ Add OE-HOLD tag (if configured)
✔ Send merchant summary email
Your fulfillment team can review before shipping.
