How to manage search appearance. (Google structured data and Local business info)

Welcome to SEO Lab Support

**SEO Lab – Search Appearance **

Google structured data

This page helps you control how your store appears on Google. Each setting adds special “Structured Data (JSON-LD)” so Google can better understand your pages and show rich results.

1. Breadcrumbs

What it does:

Breadcrumbs help Google understand your site’s structure (Home → Collection → Product).

Google can show breadcrumb links in search results, making your store look more organized.

Simple example:

If someone searches for your product, Google may show something like:

Home > Shoes > Running Shoes

Where it applies: Homepage.

Button: Run Test – checks if breadcrumbs are added correctly.

What it does:

Adds a special search box under your store’s Google result.

Customers can search your store directly from Google.

Example:

When someone searches your brand on Google, they may see:

Search [Your Store] → a search bar appears under the result.

Where it applies: Homepage.

Button: Run Test – checks if the search box is working.

3. Product Structured Data

What it does:

Adds product information for Google, such as:

  • Price
  • Stock
  • Ratings
  • SKU
  • Image

Google can show “Rich Results” like stars, price, or availability.

Example:

Instead of a simple link, Google may show:

⭐ 4.8 Rating — $39.99 — In Stock

Where it applies: Product pages.

Button: Run Test – checks if product data is added.

4. Article Structured Data

What it does:

Helps Google understand your blog articles by adding:

  • Article title
  • Author
  • Publish date
  • Images

Better chance of ranking your blog posts and getting rich article previews.

Example:

Google may show the publish date and author under your article link.

Where it applies: Blog article pages.

Button: Run Test – verifies article structured data.

**5. Collection Structured Data **

What it does:

Adds structured data for your collection pages (category pages).

Why it’s helpful:

Google understands what products are inside each collection, which improves rankings of category pages.

Example:

Collection page “Summer Dresses” can show more rich info in Google search.

Where it applies: Collection pages.

Status:

Shows Off when disabled — turn it on to improve SEO of collections.

6. Blogs structured data

You can also add structured data for your blogs pages

Turn on “Organization”

Use the toggle on the top-right of this card to enable Organization schema.

When it’s ON, SEO Lab will add special code (JSON-LD) so Google understands who your business is.

  • Click “Add image” under Logo.
  • Upload your main brand logo (clear, not blurry – ideally square).

Why: This logo can appear in Google search results and in your business knowledge panel.

3. Enter your Business Name

  • In Business name, type your store or company name exactly as you use it everywhere (for example: Mehak Home).

Why: Google uses this name as the official name of your business.

Paste the URLs of your social profiles, such as:

  • YouTube
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest

Google may show these icons under your brand when people search for your business.

The example on the right shows how these social icons might appear on Google.

5. Click Save

After filling in all the details, click Save.

SEO Lab will automatically generate and apply the correct schema code to your store.

In simple words:

“This page helps Google understand who your business is by adding your logo, name, and official social profiles. When set up correctly, your brand can appear more professional in Google search results.”

**Search Appearance → Local Business **

This section in the SEO Lab app allows you to add Local Business Structured Data to your store. This helps Google understand your business information, location, and working hours so your store can appear in Local Search Results, Google Maps, and the Local Business Rich Results panel.

When enabled, Google can show details like your store name, address, phone number, opening hours, and location inside search results.

1. Local Business Toggle (On/Off)

This switch enables or disables Local Business structured data.

  • Turn ON if your store has a physical location or provides services in a specific area.
  • Leave OFF if you are only an online-only store.

2. Store Image

Upload an image representing your business—like your store logo, storefront picture, or brand image.

3. Business Information

These fields describe your business:

  • Business Name – Your shop or company name.
  • Local Business @type – Select the type of business (e.g., Animal Shelter, Store, Restaurant). This helps Google categorize your business.
  • Price Range – Add something like $, $$, $$$ to show how expensive your products/services are.
  • Review Rating – Add your average rating, such as 4.8.
  • Telephone – Your business contact number.
  • Street Address – The physical street address of your store.
  • City, State/Province, Country – Your store’s full location details.
  • Zip/Postal Code – Your area postal code.
  • Latitude & Longitude – Exact map coordinates (optional but improves accuracy).

4. Business Hours

You can set the opening and closing time for each day of the week.

For example:

  • Monday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

This helps Google show your open/closed status directly in search results.

What This Feature Does

When you fill out this form and click Save, SEO Lab automatically generates the required Local Business Schema for your store. Google uses this data to:

  • Improve your visibility in local searches
  • Show your business information in rich results
  • Display your map location and business hours
  • Build trust with customers browsing online
