📢 Difference Between Discount Announcement Bar and Custom Announcement Bar in Shortly

Overview

Shortly provides two types of announcement bars to display promotions and messages on your Shopify landing pages:

1. Discount Announcement Bar – tied to discount links
2. Custom Announcement Bar – fully customizable, specific to individual links

This guide explains the key differences and how to set them up.

1. Discount Announcement Bar

How to Use:

1. Add your Landing Page URL
2. Add a Custom Alias
   

3. Choose the Discount option:
   

• Use a Shopify coupon you've already created
  
  
• Or set a percentage or fixed amount discount
  

4. Click Create
   

5. Copy the link and open it in your browser
   
   

🔎 A discount announcement bar will appear on the landing page showing the applied discount.

Customization Options

1. Go to App Settings > General
   

2. Scroll to the Announcement Bar section
   

✅ Enable / Disable

• Toggle the switch to activate or deactivate the bar
• Optional: check the box to show the discounted price in the bar

⏳ Countdown Time (Minutes)

• Add a countdown timer to create urgency
• Min: 0 | Max: 10 retries

📝 Coupon Bar Text

• Customize the message displayed

🎨 Color Picker

• Match the bar's color with your brand

📍 Position

• Choose to display the bar on the top or bottom of the page

💾 Save Changes

• Click Update to apply your settings

How to Use:

1. During link creation, enable Custom Announcement Bar
   

2. Customize the following:
   

• Background color
  
• Text color
  
• Icon
  
• Position (top or bottom)
  
• Main text and subtext
  
• Add a timer

3. Click Create
   

4. Copy the link and test it
