How to fix broken links in SEO LAB ?

Welcome to SEO Lab Support

In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix broken links using the SEO Lab app. Follow these simple steps to set the broken links.

Broken links are links on a website that no longer work or lead to a missing page. When someone clicks a broken link, it usually shows a 404 error because the page has been deleted, moved, or the URL was entered incorrectly.

You can do this setup by following this guide:

Step 1 – Open the URL Management Section
  1. In your Shopify Admin, go to:

Apps → SEOLab – SEO Optimizer

  1. From the left menu, click URL Management.
  2. Make sure the “Broken Links” tab is selected.

  1. At the top-right, click the “Broken Links Finder” button.
  2. SEOLab will start scanning your store for 404 / missing URLs.
  3. After the scan, any broken links will appear in the list below
  1. In the Auto fix broken links section, turn the toggle ON.
  1. In Target Link, enter the URL where you want all new 404s to redirect
  • Example: / (your homepage) or a main collection URL.
  1. Click Save.

From now on, SEOLab will automatically redirect newly detected 404 links to the target URL you set.

  1. Below the box, click the “Unresolved Links” tab.
  2. Here you will see all broken links that still need action.
  3. For each link, you can:
  • Create Redirect → send it to a valid URL
  • Ignore → if the link is not important

Step 5 – Manage Your Redirects

  1. Click the “Manage Redirects” tab.
  2. This page shows all redirects you have created through SEOLab.
  3. You can:
  • Edit the From URL or To URL
  • Delete redirects you no longer need

This is useful to keep your redirect list clean and organized.

  1. Click the “Ignored Links” tab.
  2. These are links you chose to ignore (SEOLab will no longer flag them as broken).
  3. You can un-ignore them later if you want SEOLab to track them again.

Step 7 – Use “Create a Redirect” (Manual Redirect)

Sometimes you already know an old URL that should redirect.

  1. Click “Create a Redirect” (top-right).
  2. Enter:
  • From URL → the broken/old link
  • To URL → the correct working page
  1. Save.

This is perfect for deleted products, changed URLs, or rebranded pages.

✅ What This Feature Helps You Achieve

  • Automatically fixes new 404 errors
  • Protects SEO by keeping your URL structure clean
  • Prevents customers from landing on dead pages
  • Lets you fully control redirects from one place inside SEOLab
