# Welcome to SEO LAB!
In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up **SEO Meta Tags** **Alt Tags** inside **SEO Lab** to improve your product visibility on Google.
### How to Enable & Use Meta Tags Settings in SEO Lab

###### Step 1: Open SEO Lab
1. Go to your **Shopify Admin**.
2. Click on **Apps**.
3. Open **SEO Lab**.

###### Step 2: Access SEO Tags
Inside SEO Lab, click on **SEO Tags**. You will see two settings:
1. **Meta Tags**
2. **Alt Tags**

###### Step 3: Set Up Meta Tags
Start with **Meta Tags** settings. Here you have three options:
1. **Product Meta Tags**
2. **Collection Meta Tags**
3. **Blog Meta Tags**

### Product Meta Tags:
* Enable this to automatically **generate meta titles** and **meta descriptions** for your products.
* You can **adjust** these tags according to your preferences.

###### Step 4: Overwrite / Update Settings
SEO Lab will display an option for **Overwrite Meta Tags** or **Update Empty Tags Only**.
###### How to use it:
* **Overwrite ON**: SEO Lab will **replace existing meta tags**.
* **Overwrite OFF**: SEO Lab will only **fill missing or empty meta tags**.

###### Recommendation:

If you’ve already written good meta tags in Shopify, keep **Overwrite OFF** to only fill in the blanks.

###### Step 5: Apply to Collections and Blogs
The same process applies for **Collection Meta Tags** and **Blog Meta Tags**. Enable them to auto-generate or adjust as needed.

### BEST PRACTICE
* Keep meta titles clear, unique, and within **50–60 characters**.
* Avoid keyword stuffing and ensure tags match the page content.
* Make every page’s meta tags unique for better ranking.
